Trabecular bone
As the hands and feet make direct contact with the substrate during locomotion, they experience the highest ground reaction forces. My research examines how the magnitude and orientation of the ground reaction force affect remodeling of the internal trabecular bone. By first understanding form-function relationships in extant primates, it is possible to infer limb loading in fossil species.
